Ashley Rawson Kerekes, MD
Dr. Ashley Kerekes is dedicated to continuing the tradition of excellence and attention to detail that Carolina Plastic Surgery is known for. She is proud to offer the latest, most advanced and innovative procedures in plastic surgery available. Specializing in surgeries of the breast – as well as cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face and body – places our practice in a special league.
Our mission is to provide each patient with the highest quality care that will ensure the best possible outcome. We believe in educating our patients – of all ethnicities – to empower them in making the most informed decisions possible.
Education and Training
Dr Kerekes is a native of West Virginia and completed medical school at West Virginia University. In medical school, she discovered her love for plastic surgery and from there, she matched into a coveted 6-year integrated Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Kentucky. During residency she won multiple teaching awards and was also involved in research. Upon graduating from the University of Kentucky, she then went on to serve the Kentucky community by joining Hardin Memorial Hospital. Here, she started the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program and served as Medical Director for five years. She was an integral member of the Comprehensive Breast Cancer team and won the Highest Overall Patient Experience Award for the organization in 2019 and 2020.
Board Certification
Dr. Kerekes is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, which means she has met rigorous requirements to become board certified. She also maintains her certification by voluntarily participating in activities which assess her knowledge, and ensure that she stays up with the latest techniques and innovations in the specialty.
Philosophy
Dr. Kerekes is passionate about plastic surgery and her role in educating and empowering patients. As a female plastic surgeon, Dr. Kerekes offers the combination of surgical skill and a compassionate, empathetic female perspective. She has a very patient-centered approach and believes in helping people throughout their entire surgical transformation. Regardless of why that journey starts- a cancer diagnosis, aesthetic concern, massive weight loss, restoration after childbirth-- she encourages patients to trust the process, and ensures that she is there, every step of the way, to help them complete their journey.

"After much deliberation because of being a young mother of three children, and not wanting the recovery time away from my family, I decided to move forward with my surgery after my first consultation with Dr. Kerekes. From the first time I met with her she made me feel at ease and in charge of my medical decisions. She had the best bed side manner I have ever received from the first consultation through my entire recovery process.
With plastic surgery comes anxiety, fear, and obvious discomfort. My anxiety was gone after my first appointment because of how transparent about the procedure and recovery she was. Fear is something that she can help you with because of her demeanor, but that is a decision you as the patient have to come to grips with, but she gives you all the tools to do that. For discomfort she gave me and my partner realistic expectations of what to expect from day one, which helped us know day to day what we were going to deal with.
My personal decision to have my surgery was based on being more comfortable in my own skin after giving birth to three healthy children that have blessed me beyond what I deserve but left loose skin that exercise and diet could not eliminate. Even while I was still in my recovery stage after surgery, I could say then and still say today without a doubt it was the best decision I made for myself as an adult.
